3。5 starsAfter having read Perfect Strangers from the same author and her comparing it to that book， I was not expecting this to be a romance。 It definitely is more toward the thriller side of things with a paranormal bend。The writing and storytelling were engaging and I had a hard time putting the book down。 The relationship between the characters was not always my thing and I didn't love the nicknames they used。 However， they made sense as the story progressed/you get to know them。 I will say 3。5 starsAfter having read Perfect Strangers from the same author and her comparing it to that book， I was not expecting this to be a romance。 It definitely is more toward the thriller side of things with a paranormal bend。The writing and storytelling were engaging and I had a hard time putting the book down。 The relationship between the characters was not always my thing and I didn't love the nicknames they used。 However， they made sense as the story progressed/you get to know them。 I will say the story was not at all what I expected based on the blurb， but it was still mysterious and interesting。 I could definitely see this as a movie and I can see where some films influenced the story。 I would recommend checking the list of trigger warnings because this is a darker story。Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review。 。。。more

Not what I expected but a complex and original gem。 Every time I read a J。T book I laugh and cry and I am thankful。 Just excellent。
